Life’s Journey

Theresa Simon was born on June 4, 1942, to Semien and Bernadette Simon of Mamou, Louisiana. After accepting Jesus Christ as her Savoir at a very early age and serving Him daily from then on, God saw fit to give her rest by taking her home to be with Him.

Theresa, better known to her biological family as Mama, T, and Ms. T to many, lived a full life for God helping everyone placed in her path. Theresa was a loving, energetic woman who tolerated no foolishness when it came to successfully accomplishing what she felt would be her job (nothing but excellence).   She took on the task/job of taking care of many children, including her younger siblings, the sick, and worked as a Professional Caretaker for many (including her mother) for decades. She provided love along with all the physical or medical assistance possible.

Theresa served as a Deaconess, supported the youth department and gave to her church through fund raising with her delicious boudin, gumbo, and sauce piquant for many years and helped in any area that led to the growth of her church and community. Theresa was a wonderful wife, and awesome mother to her children, 2 bonus children. Theresa’s prayers always included a desire to have guidance to live a life that would be pleasing to God.

Theresa was preceded in death by her first husband Horace Poullard, and later remarried Minister Fletcher Willis, daughter Elva Poullard Fennell, bonus daughter/niece Mary Ann Simon Richardson, son in love, Pastor Ronald K Mouton, goddaughter, Angie LaRose, and Great Grandson, Lincoln Asher Dean, 8 brothers including 4 bonus brothers, 7 sisters including 1 bonus sister.

She leaves to cherish in her loving memories her children; Morris Poullard, Suzanne Mouton, Loretta (Rita) Poullard Johnson (Kelvin), Muriel Johnson, Lerlene Willis, Kevin Richardson, and bonus daughter Tina Stevenson (Michael); Three brothers, Gustave Simon Sr., Hamp Joseph Ceaser (Cleo), Rev. Calvin Ceaser (Viola), 2 Bonus brothers George R Deville and Terry W Deville, 4 sisters Eva Ceaser, Loritha LaRose, Mary J Porter (Henry) and Juanita Ceaser. She had 21 Grandchildren and 27 Great-Grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
