Life’s Journey

On January 29, 2023, Rose Patricia Edwards passed peacefully at her home in Houston Texas. Rose was 63 years old. Rose was born on February 5,1959 to the late Zelma L. Edwards and the late Rev. J.D. Edwards of South Land Baptist Church. Rose is survived by her sisters Judyette Hudson and Stephanie Edwards. Charles Hudson brother in law. Vance R. Jr. and Vance R. Taylor III, Devanese J. Taylor, Tyre Grimsrud Taylor. niece and nephews who reside in California. She also has a large family here in Houston and through out Texas and Oklahoma. Rose was baptized at Fort Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. 

Her faith always gave her strength and comfort through her life’s challenges. She attended Evan E. Worthing High School, was a member of the marching band playing the clarinet. After graduating high school, Rose became a Certified Nursing Asst. and later moved to California for several years. She returned to Houston later to care for her ailing mother. Rose loved her family dearly. Music, animals, and good cuisine was some of her favorites. She loved having fun and was a jokester at times. Being a people person Rose was a rebel at heart. Truly believing in and standing up for equality and justice for all.
