Life’s Journey

On November 17, 1961, a son was born to Earline Rankin and Joe Nell Gaddis in Sumrall, Mississippi. He was blessed by God to walk in His light and love. Ricky Joe Rankin was the firstborn of four children. He was blessed by God to walk in his Light and Love. In 1980, he graduated from Ross Sterling High School to soon start his future endeavors.

God blessed Ricky with three beautiful children, Rick Justin Rankin, D’Andria Patrice Rankin-Richardson and Robynn Sheree Rankin, whom he loved and adored. Ricky found the love of his life, Donna Kaye Eaton-Rankin, in November 1991, whom he married and enjoyed 32yrs of happiness and love. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf with family and friends. Ricky embraced his position as the Plant Supervisor with Shell
Oil Company but above that, his passion was caring for and protecting his family and\ friends. He served the Lord our God with strong faith and complete trust. Ricky stepped out of time and into eternity on July 31, 2024. Waiting in Heaven to greet him home; his mother, Earline Rankin-Young, his step father, Robert Louis Young Sr. He leaves behind to worship his life; Wife Donna Kaye Eaton-Rankin, son Rick Justin Rankin, daughter D’Andria Patrice Rankin-Richardson, daughter Robynn Sheree Rankin, brother Robert Young Jr., sisters Belinda Rankin-Small and Brenda Young. His three grandchildren, Alivia Shea Richardson, Armias Lee Jolivet and Brielle Elizabeth Richardson. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. His presence will be truly missed by many, but we must continue to hold on to God’s promises that we will be reunited with him again.

I had the privilege of meeting Ricky while on a project at the CR&L/CDTECH Facility. He made such a wonderful impression on me the day I met him. We quickly became friends. We spent much time talking about God, our spouses and our children and how blessed we each were. He never failed to refer to me as his sister in Christ. And he was and will forever be my brother in Christ. I miss my friend, and I look forward to seeing him again when we are reunited. Until then - Rest in Peace.
