On April 25, 1930, Raymond Charles was born to Chester and Ida Charles in Opelousas, Louisiana. Raymond attended Prairie Laurent School. He accepted Christ at an early age. Raymond worked at Weingarten’s Grocery Store for many years and at age 55 he retired. He decided to become an entrepreneur and start his very own lawn service that he named Raymond Charles Lawn Service. Raymond enjoyed Zydeco music and dancing. He was so good at it, that they started to call him “Quick Feet”. He liked talk radio and eating at fine dining Restaurants. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He Had 4 Kids, 15 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grand Kids And 4 Great Great Grandkids. Raymond Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Esther Charles; three brothers, Clarence Charles, Harry Charles and Vincent Charles; three sisters, Hazel Expose, Idaline LeDay and Octavia Declouet, and grandson, Keven “Dino” Conner. Raymond Charles leaves to cherish his memories: Grady Charles (Belinda), Carolyn Conners (Calvin), Orlando Charles and Paul Charles; two sisters, Audrey Franklyn and Louise Reed; one brother, Arthur Charles; fifteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
