Life’s Journey

Lawrence Herman Aikens, Jr. was born April 25, 1979 in Houston, Texas to Alicia Kay Pickett and the late Lawrence Herman Aikens, Sr.  He departed this life on May 1, 2021.  Affectionately known as “Lil Herman”, “LA” and/or “Zone”.  He attended Westbury High School where he later obtained his GED.  Lawrence had a love for God and often spent his time reading the Word of God.  He was a talented poet and songwriter and he blessed many with his craft.    

Lawrence is survived by his mother, Alicia Kay Pickett and stepfather Albert Pickett, Sr.; his grandmother Annie Mae Parker; his son Raheem Stein;  sister Shumelle Taylor (Roderic Taylor), sister Kawanah Woods (Troy Woods), brother Albert Pickett, Jr and sister, Hondrea Pickett-Blair; one grandson, three nieces; four nephews, two great nephews; one great niece and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
