Life’s Journey
Jocelyn Yvette Ealy was born February 21, 1969 to James Ealy and Andera Davidson in Palestine, Texas. Jocelyn graduated from Palestine High School in 1987. She graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000. After graduating from college, Jocelyn became a teacher, showing her passion for teaching students with special needs. Jocelyn loved teaching and spent countless hours preparing lessons to meet the needs of her students. She had a special love for her students. Jocelyn had a very caring heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand At an early age, Jocelyn accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. After moving to the Humble area, Jocelyn joined The Luke Church.
Jocelyn married Charles Hawkins and to this union, two sons were born; Charles Hawkins, Jr. and Shawn Hawkins. On February 3, 2025, Jocelyn received her wings. She will be missed by family and friends. Jocelyn was preceded in death by her father, James Ealy Sr. and step-father, David Davidson. Jocelyn leaves to cherish her memory a loving mother, Andera Davidson; Two brothers, James Ealy Jr. and Vernon Ealy; Two sons, Charles Hawkins Jr. and Shawn Hawkins; Four beautiful grandchildren, JayNiya Sutton, Tyree Hawkins, Madison Hawkins, and McKenzie Hawkins; Fiance, Michael Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, unclies, and other relatives and friends.
