Life’s Journey

Gregory Phillip Hamilton was born on August 6, 1961, in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Jack Yates High School. He played football and was very good. He was as fast as a cheetah! Atleast his mother thought so!

Greg confessed Christ at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Robert J. Williams of New Providence Missionary Baptist Church. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. After his stint in the Army, he obtained his commercial driver’s license (CDL) and became a professional truck driver. In addition to loving “big trucks,” he was obsessed with dogs, and loved the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his Grandmother: Rotina C. Guy; Brother: Donald Ray Hamilton; Best Friend/Cousin: Norris Guy; and Great Grandson: Kaior Brown.

He leaves to cherish his memories wife Shay Lovings-Hamilton; daughters: Renatta Lockett, G’Zayah Hamilton, Sha’Riyah West, Te’Nyjah Chanette. Sons: Bryson “Rock” Hamilton (Kristina) and Kei’Dreyan Hamilton. Parents: Andy Hamilton III and Etta Guy Hamilton. In Laws: Lawrence and Cynthia Hill. Siblings: Gene P. Hamilton, Frankie D. Turpin (Larry), Keith L. Hamilton (Elisha), Charles W. Hamilton (Deethelyn), Sharon R. Dean, Rosalind D. Haynes (Donavan), Beverly Gwin (Cornelius), Shirley F. Toles. Uncle: Oscar “Bubba” Guy Sr. Aunt: Rotena Houston. Special Cousins: Laverne “DeeDee” Carter, Martin “Tu” Guy, and Ray Motte. Seven grandchildren: Kyle, Courtney, Koree, Kali Jo, Lila Grey, Roman, Logan; and host of nieces, and nephews, and cousins.
