Life’s Journey

A time to be born

Doris Bell Born May 5, 1944 in Calvert, Texas to Clifton Kinney and Lilie Mae Walker. A TIME TO REVERENCE TO GOD Doris confessed Christ as her savior early in life and became an active member of Sugar Valley Baptist Church Under Rev E.M. Lewis and usher and deaconness under Rev. Robert Vean.

A TIME TO LEARN

Doris graduated from Calver Colored School in 1962. Attended Barber College in Houston, Texas.

A TIME TO WORK

Doris was a prestigous owner and operator of her own barbershop in Sunnyside, Texas in Sugarvalley, where she retired in 2017.

A TIME FOR MARRIAGE

In the fall of 1964, Doris met the love of her life, Woodrow Bell and they were untied in marriage on Decemeber 12, 1965, they spent 53 years loving and nourishing their relationship and marriage.

A TIME TO DIE Doris

departed this life on Monday May 6, 2024, she was prededed in death by her parents Clifton Kinney and Lilie Mae Walker, her husband Woodrow Bell, her Two sisters Donnie council, Betty Lightfoot and a brother Rennie Kinney.

A TIME TO MOURN

Loving Memories of Doris Bell will be long cherished by family and friends. She leaves to mourn her passing Two children Ennis Keith Bell, and Demetra Deshun; Three Grandchildren: Niesha Nicole Kibble, Jeremy Keith Kirksey “BUD” and Brittany La’shay Womack; Seven Great Grandchildren: Avery Wilson, Averyana Wilson, Jordan Pearson, Emiellya Roberson, Alyssa Kirksey, Marisa Kirksey and Azya Jackson; Two sisters: Mary Ann Day and Dianne Bernette and Three brothers: Alfred Kinney, HL Kinney; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
