Life’s Journey

Damion Keith Deshaun Scruggs was called home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2024. Damion was the first-born to Marcia Burns (Joseph Handy) on March 24, 1979. On April 5, 2003, he married the love of his life, Deniece Scruggs. His forever and a day union begot three kids.

Damion began his childhood in Hillwood, TX. He attended James H. Law Elementary, Carter G. Woodson Middle and Evan E. Worthing High. Upon graduating high school, Damion used his skills in various ways to provide for his family.

Damion had an endless love for sports, especially his hometown teams. Damion was also family-oriented and, would often host multiple family gatherings at his home. Most notable were his all-out Texans’ parties. To celebrate the Texans victories he would require everyone in attendance to take a “shot” for each touchdown and for each win.
