Life’s Journey

On March 5, 1944 in Beasley, Texas God blessed Charlie and Alberta Daniels with a beautiful baby girl whom they proudly named Birdanna Daniels. She was the eighth born of sixteen children.

In 1961, she married the love of her life Jerry Lee Watkins and from their union, two daughters, Stephanie and Lisa and one son, Jerry Jr., were born.

At an early age, Birdanna called “Birdie” by many, accepted Christ. She attended and faithfully served over the years in various capacities and ministries. While a long time member of Nazareth Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor A.L. Curry and later Pastor R.L. Allen, she was the musician for the male chorus. At Northmore Baptist Church and Pageville Baptist Church she served as musician for the choir. As she grew in the Lord, she became filled with the Holy Spirit under the leadership of Apostle F.L. Daniels and became an ordained minister while attending Overcoming Faith Ministries. After the passing of Apostle Daniels, she and her husband joined Grace Point Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Don Keithley. There she sang with the worship team and taught in the Women’s Ministry. also, along with her husband, they provided premarital counseling to couples. She lived a life of serving others.

Birdanna was employed by Texas Instruments, and then Reliabilty, Inc in Houston until she decided to attend Cosmetology School where she received an Operators license as well as an Instructor’s license. She then pledged and became a member of a Cosmetologist Sorority. As her business grew in Richmond, she was lead by God to open a second location in Brazoria.
