Life’s Journey

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernice Pritchard, aged 61, of Houston, Texas, who passed away on
November 28, 2024. Born on March 30, 1963, in Monrovia, Liberia, Bernice was the daughter of Ethel Traub and John Ziegler. She moved to the United States in the 1980s in pursuit of a brighter future. Bernice had a passion for caring for others, earning several certifications and pursuing additional training and education to excel in her field.
Bernice was known for her beauty, intelligence, and everything in between. She was truly a jack of all trades, wearing many hats throughout her life. Strong, fierce, independent, and resilient, she dedicated herself to caring for others. She spent most of her career working with individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and patients in need. To those she cared for, she  was a warm, smiling presence—a substitute for absent family, a caregiver who nursed them back to health, and someone who left a lastly impression. Many who returned to thank her for her kindness and dedication on their road to recovery. She relied on her faith, the power of God, and prayer to navigate every hardship, risk, and joyful moment in her life. Bernice’s favorite pastimes included tending to her garden, decorating, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her 4 children Tonisha, Trisha, Leila, Xavier. Her 5 grandchildren Kharie, Keenan Jr, Kymani, Kamiyah, Kailani Sky. And 12
Siblings John (Hawah), Raymond, Edwin “Zopon”, Mark, Yarta “Mena”, Ophelia, Gloria Jalloh, Judy, Marie, Nina “Nyeanah” (Ibrahim), Emmanuel “Gbanyah”,  and Zolu.

Bernice Pritchard will be deeply missed but will remain forever in our hearts. Though we grieve her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories we hold dear.
