Life’s Journey
Our Dear Mother, Eleanor Yvonne Estes was called to her heavenly home on Monday, October 7, 2024, at the age of 70. She was born in Bay City, Texasto parents Rev. Eddie L. and Katherine Rhodes. She relocated and attended Houston Independent School District. She accepted Christ at an early age and continued to study and learn under the leadership of Pastor Larry D. Brooks Sr. of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. A pillar of strength and a beacon of love, her absence leaves a void in our hearts. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her most, offering abundant support, wisdom, and love. Full of love and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. A friend to many, she was a cherished woman who left a legacy of kindness and strength. Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband Bill Estes Jr, Daughter LaShanda (Mopsy),; Corey DeWayne, her parents Rev. Eddie L. and Katherine Rhodes, sister Delores Brown, brothers Eddie Rhodes Jr, Reginald Rhodes, and Ronald Rhodes. She leaves to cherish loving memories to her son Eric Estes (Sue), daughter Stephanie Estes-Mercy (Marlon), Goddaughter Blair, Bonus Daughters Chastity Estes and Erica Rembert, 11 grandchildren Dayvon, Trevon (Dajae), Chelsea, Chyna, Kavon, Indya, Arissa, Ameryca, Deleon, Mariah, and Marlon Jr, great-grandchildren Prince, Amirah, Kaleb, Kenndi, Darius, sisters Jacquelyn Rhodes, Gwendolyn Rhodes, brothers Mark Rhodes, and Michael Rhodes (Ruby), Gregory Rhodes (Linda), sister in loves Barbara, Gloria, Wilma and Ethel, best friends Delores James, Gloria Maes, and Jo Ann McCullough, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
