Life’s Journey

Raymond Ray Moore Sr. was born on March 23, 1950 to the late George D. Moore Sr. and Ida Mae Blount in Ringgold, Louisiana. He departed this life on August 20, 2024, when the Lord called him home. Raymond was the fourth of eight children (twin to a sister, Faye) five girls and three boys. Raymond, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister, Gloria Dean and two brothers, George D Jr. and Robert Earl Moore.

Raymond confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized in Louisiana. He was a graduate of Southside High School in Ringgold, LA. He proceeded into his passion, a career in welding and truck driving. He later entered into his last career as Park Caretaker for Harris County Precinct One where he retired after 15 years.  He was united in holy matrimony to Esther B. Reeves (Moore), to this union two children were born, Raymond Jr. and Ureka.  Prior to his marriage to Esther, Raymond was the proud father of Vershanski and from his previous marriage, proud father of Demetrius.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Esther B. Moore, his four children Vershanski (Roosevelt), of Shreveport, LA,  Demetrius, Raymond, Jr. (Cindy) and Ureka, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his four sisters, Ivye Andrews (Lester), Raymond Faye Kirkland (Willie), Linda Scott and Carolyn A. Thomas, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and heavenly relatives preceding him (loved and thought of today!) he was truly loved by all. Raymond touched the lives and hearts of many he knew and loved through much of his life in various places and Houston, Texas.
